Courtenay studied at the B.C. Institute of Technology where she holds a diploma in Leadership (with Distinction). Courtenay is proud of her public speaking skills and holds a competent Leadership Certificate from Toastmasters International. Skills she uses as a Designated Minister with Clergy Support Memorial Church. In her free time Courtenay can be found growing food, laughing at the family chickens’ antics, cooking for her large family or hanging out at the beach in front of their home on Boutiliers Point. If you want a civil ceremony, we recommend Bruce who is a licenced administrative JP in the Province. He is limited to conducting civil ceremonies. Bruce is originally from the Annapolis Valley and moved to Halifax in 1996. Bruce says: "I am honoured to have raised 14 children as a foster parent and owned and operated a Dairy farm. I’m well known in my community through my passion for genealogy, antiques and collectables, and being an avid treasure hunter. My passion also extends to conducting wedding ceremonies. Carol is an Ordained Minister with Clergy Support Memorial Church. She is a caring and respectful individual, honouring all faiths and beliefs. She serves mostly in the Upper Tantallon area. Gwen is an Ordained minister with Clergy Support Memorial Church. She is presently serving as a Corrections Chaplain with the Atlantic Regional Chaplaincy. Her specialty is in the area of Life Celebrations and Pastoral Care. She came to us after serving for six years as a chaplain with the Unitarian Church. Rev Marilyn is the Atlantic regional full time administrator of Clergy Support Memorial Church. She also makes herself available to conduct wedding ceremonies in a Clergy Support setting or for those beyond the care of traditional churches. She was educated in the USA and at Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB. Last year Marilyn was voted by her peers as the most popular wedding officiant in Nova Scotia in the annual Wedding Expert Awards. In addition she also won the Gold Award called 'the best officiant' in The Coast's Best of Weddings 2017 awards event. Marilyn is a strong proponent of social justice and equality, and firmly believes that we share a small planet where every human being deserves security and respect. She lives in Halifax, overlooking Bedford Basin, and would love to help make your wedding ceremony the very special occasion you want it to be.
